Traveling with twins? Want to stay in amazing hotels in Sri Lanka? Read on!
I first visited the island paradise in the early 2000’s as a teenager and stayed in some amazing hotels in Sri Lanka which I still remember to this day! Most recently I returned for 10 days with my boys and husband. It’s a country that never ceases to amaze me with its hospitality, fantastic food and incredible landscapes. But, what’s it like traveling with twins there? Amazing! Sri Lankans love children, and you’ll never be short on offers to help with moving luggage, keeping them entertained or accommodating you wherever you go. I’ve put together a list of some amazing hotels in Sri Lanka that are ideal for travelling with twins and will make the whole family enjoy the holiday! All you have to worry about is picking a book to read and figuring out what business idea you’re going to start!
Set in 200-year-old tropical gardens and built around an 18th century manor the rooms are spacious and all on one level, so you don’t need to worry about hundreds of steps or being crammed into small spaces if you’re traveling with twins. The rooms have all the mod cons you need, and they wheeled in two large cots for the boys to sleep in. The hotel is in the ideal location just 20 minutes from the International Airport.
Pro tip: Bring something soft to line the cots with, they were a little hard.
The old world charm of this 17th-century building is incredible in person, it’s literally on the list of amazing hotels in Sri Lanka constantly! The staff welcome you with open arms and the hotel has incredible modern touches that you want out of a luxury boutique hotel in Sri Lanka. The pool is a must visit, and you’re surrounded by the Unesco protected Galle Fort, so there’s plenty to explore.
Pro tip: Head to breakfast early to get an extra set of hands to help with the kids before the rush.
A gorgeous luxury hotel in the south of Sri Lanka that overlooks the Indian Ocean and has two beaches to choose from, if you can tear yourself away from the 60m infinity pool. The property is spread out across 12 acres, but there are plenty of different accommodation layouts to suit your family and activities on site to keep you busy!
Pro tip: Book bigger kids into the kids club to keep them busy and give yourself a break!
This Air Bnb property is where we stayed for the majority of our visit to Sri Lanka and did not disappoint. With the staff to take care of your every need – Play-doh for the boys? Made in the kitchen by the chef. Transport for excursions? Booked. BBQ by the pool for dinner? Sorted. We had nothing to worry about our entire stay and fell asleep in our huge comfy beds at night (sleep is necessary when you’re traveling with twins!) to the sound of the waves crashing in front of the villa. Bliss!
Pro tip: Ash the Butler is full of recommendations, pick his brain!
Created by two UAE expats, this is the first co-working space in Sri Lanka with a gorgeous restaurant and is one of them most unique, if not amazing hotels in Sri Lanka. From single rooms with a shared bathroom to double bedrooms with ensuites, this is the ideal location for digital nomads to set themselves up and enjoy the south coast. The coffee is brilliant and you’ve got the beach on your doorstep!
Pro tip: Make the most of the holiday vibes and get chatting to others around the co-working space.
